Idyllwild Fauna


Black-Headed Grosbeak
Scientific name: Pheucticus Melanocephalus


  • I believe that a Black-Headed Grosbeak is diurnal, diurnal means it comes out in the day, because on all the websites that I looked at they didn't say if it was nocturnal or diurnal. 
  • You can identify this animal because it has a thick beak, white patches on their black wings and it has reddish- orange breasts, and a black head.
